Does SmartWorkout work on Wear OS and Galaxy Watch?
Short answer
Yes. The app works on watches with Wear OS 4 or later, such as Galaxy Watch4 and newer, together with the app on your Android phone. You can start a workout on it, log sets and get an alert when your rest ends.
How to install it
- Update SmartWorkout on your phone to the latest version.
- On your watch, open the Play Store and search for SmartWorkout.
- Install the app and open it on your watch while your phone is nearby.
You can also install the watch app from the Play Store on your phone: on the SmartWorkout page, choose to install it on more devices.
What you can do on the watch
- Start a workout from a plan, a template or from scratch, or finish a workout you started on your phone.
- Enter weight, reps and RIR or RPE with the rotating bezel or the crown.
- Check off a set, add a set or warm-up.
- Rest timer with an alert when it ends. The watch asks for permission to use alarms so the alert arrives on time.
- Live heart rate during your workout and an always-on display.
Limitations
- You can't add a new exercise on the watch. Do that on your phone.
- You see your heart rate on the watch, but the app doesn't save it to Health Connect or Samsung Health.
