Does SmartWorkout work on Apple Watch?
Short answer
Yes. The Apple Watch app installs along with the iPhone app and needs watchOS 10 or later. On the watch, you start a workout from a plan, a template or from scratch, log sets with the Digital Crown and feel a tap on your wrist when your rest ends.
How to install it
- Update SmartWorkout on your iPhone to the latest version.
- If the app didn't appear on your watch on its own, open the Watch app on your iPhone.
- On the "My Watch" tab, scroll down to "Available Apps" and tap "Install" next to SmartWorkout.
What you can do on the watch
- Start a workout from a plan, a template or from scratch, or finish a workout you started on your phone.
- Enter weight, reps, RIR or RPE and bands with the Digital Crown.
- Check off a set, add a set or warm-up, change the set type and add a note.
- Rest timer where you can add or subtract 15 seconds, with a tap on your wrist when it ends.
- Live heart rate and calories, saved to Apple Health.
- A summary with volume and records.
Limitations
- The watch needs your iPhone nearby to start a workout. During the workout, it works on its own and syncs later.
- You can't add a new exercise on the watch. Do that on your phone.
