Body Part: Legs

Description

Jog lightly on the spot with low knee lifts and small alternating steps. Keep your torso upright and swing your bent arms naturally beside your body as each foot lands softly on the forefoot. Maintain an even rhythm and steady breathing for the planned time, then slow down to finish.

How to Perform

  1. Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart, arms relaxed by your sides, and your gaze forward.
  2. Increase your pace into a light jog, landing softly on the balls of your feet and keeping your steps quick and controlled.
  3. Keep your chest lifted, shoulders relaxed, and core gently braced so your torso stays upright without leaning forward or backward.
  4. Lift your knees only slightly, keeping the steps small.
  5. Swing your arms close to your body, with your elbows bent, to help maintain rhythm and balance.
  6. Breathe steadily throughout the movement, using a pace that allows you to stay in control.
  7. Continue for the planned time, then slow to a march before stopping.

Tips

  • Swing your arms naturally at your sides, with elbows bent around 90 degrees.
  • Land softly with quiet steps and let your heels lower naturally if that feels comfortable.
  • Start with short intervals and increase their duration gradually.
  • Breathe steadily, using a rhythm you can maintain without tightening your shoulders or holding your breath.
  • Use a stable, clear surface and wear supportive shoes, especially for longer intervals.

Common Mistakes

  • Letting the knees collapse inward while lifting or landing
  • Leaning too far forward or backward instead of keeping the torso tall
  • Lifting the knees too high and turning the movement into high knees
  • Barely lifting the feet and shuffling instead of using a light running motion
  • Looking down and rounding the upper back
  • Letting the hips drop or the core relax, causing excessive side-to-side movement
  • Moving too fast before establishing a controlled rhythm
